Bridge Builders

Preparing young people for job interviews

Bridge Builders began in 2016 as part of the Lichfield Christian School’s Trust
and focuses on delivering employability workshops and mock interviews for
secondary school students. Ways by which students can improve their
communication skills and gain self-confidence. All of which help to prepare
them for life beyond school.

Youth Mentoring

Our Story

At present we have 60+ volunteers who have registered to help deliver the Bridge Builder programme. We are currently working with all the Lichfield high schools and during last year have delivered aspects of the programme to approximately 1,150 students.

At this point our programme helps students gain skills and plan for the next stage of their future when they move on from year 11. Amongst our team we have professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds and work environments.

About Us

Engage! Youth Mentoring is an independent project under the wider umbrella of registered charity, Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust. We have been recruiting and training volunteer mentors from the community since 2015. By facilitating their placement at primary and secondary schools in the local area, hundreds of students have since had the chance to speak to one of our mentors; some for a few weeks, others for many months.

Why become a Bridge Builder Volunteer?

If you feel that you could make a difference to a student by giving up some of your time, sharing some of your experiences and skills, then we would welcome you to our team.

What's required from you?

A willingness to contribute, develop new personal skills, improve the wellbeing
of an individual by being a part of a team, and engaging with students.
