Hi, my name is Flavia and I started volunteering with Engage in 2018, I got involved in volunteering because I wanted to help young people in anyway I could, since my daughter had been bullied in school, I wanted to do something, to be there for someone else and volunteering with Engage gave me that outlet to do that.
I love being a volunteer because I can help support young people through whatever they might have gone on, weather is anxiety, self-esteem, or anything else. Its nice to know that they have someone who is there to talk and listen to them about anything they want to say to me, I am there every week just to see them and they know that.
I would recommend volunteering to anyone, is such a great thing to do and everyone at Engage is lovely and welcoming, so if you are thinking about volunteering, I’d say go for it, you wont regret it.
